time for some "novelty motorik" - I think there is a general consensus that Kraftwerk's Autobahn is "motorik", but how about:

Well I have heard people say that the lyrics were some kind of homage to the Beach Boys, either Fun Fun Fun or Barbara Ann.... either way the obvious follow up to the above has to be

I said that this track Drift - Go Commando is a great bit of motorik that works at 33 or 45 rpm but which is sadly not available on youtube or anywhere else that I know of to hear it.

Today I happened to listen back to the first ever mix we did for Invisible Sounds (or Invisible City as it was called then) and I realise that we finished it off with that very track. The mix is worth checking in its own right too I think, I guess it defined the sound we tend to play and, on listening back, I realise that it is still one of the times when we best nailed it (despite being somewhat rough... or maybe that is an integral part of our sound anyhow).

A friend of mine who knows my love of motorik tunes just sent me this one he had read about in a Wire feature on tunes with that beat, I guess it's the only song in the genre of pubkrautrock or maybe krautpubrock I dunno

I was gonna put this song in the tune of the day thread but then I thought how, if do the equivalent of squinting your eyes but with your ears, there is the hint of a motorik beat in there so I'll take the excuse to put it in here. Killer tune anyhow... totally unknown band, maybe not their real name, I have it in on some dodgy comp where they change that kind of thing to avoid paying people I suppose. Would love to know more about it.

no need to squint, that's motirik - a bit of nod to Yashar by Cabaret Voltaire going on here?

to be honest, first 8 - 16 bars ( I can't count ) spelt "motorik" to me, then it loses it a bit when the vocals come in, before reinforcing it's presence

edit: i can not count, on another listen it's motorik, all the way
