as in the "decline" of this society what led to this decay it all stems from the fact that people in power truly madly and deeply didn't believe them and just put them in place as a way to order them around punish them and siphon money away from them back into their pockets

and like i said its violently maintained so the same few group of people can keep it amongst themselves using whatever tools available to them
