Catholic bling

Yes, it's very tacky and gaudy, Catholic taste. But as I say, the Irish have no connection with it. It's shiny puffa jackets, big sunglasses, slicked back hair, those patent leather high top trainers with the studs all over them, distressed denim, over styled facial hair

To flip this slur, doubt @shiels has a beard and is well into peace be with you at mass, shaking hands, “this crap’s nearly over” etc, a dapper gent effortlessly cutting past any accent and balaclava association and all your London birds lapping it up

Radio rental watering hole theatre. Look at all the reflective, light casting surfaces for an interior space and so much textural draping. Imagine tripping in there

What a gaff, I’d break the not drinking rule in such a manor

I'm very interested in how religious schisms might have come about through and determined cultural psychology, it seems like something that comes up again and again in criticism I've read

Is there some amazing book out there that goes into this in depth cos I'd love to buy it and never read it

Easy to get bogged down in the Reformation with all its killing and death

Low Countries are a good example schismatically. Take St Martin’s cathedral in Utrecht. Been prod since forever but has the feel of an Italian or Spanish site (see the glasswork), even down to defaced motifs and decorations

I felt able to be somewhat Romantic about Christianity until recently when the Supreme Court went full Christ-tard

You think well there's a lot to be said for it only keep it away from any actual power/influence please

As far attitudes to abortion go, American Catholics are almost progressive compared to the Evangelical lot, though. I think it's the Proddies who are the main opponents of abortion access in Nor'n I'ron, too.

Edit: I get that you said Christianity, not Catholicism.

Sheils wears tartan trousers. Tight ones. Not taking the piss, he actually does.

Have you thought about what you're wearing later? The polar neck and really shiny pointy boots thing would be the obvious choice

i dont feel like a genius at the moment so it will be very low key dress wise. i'm going to let other people do most of it then i'll come on towards the end and
provide the most compelling electric performance of the night, then go back to drinking stella
