Don't be a literalist

People are trying to get things done with language

If the sunscreen tube says "wait 15 minutes after applying" that's because they know 90% of people given that instruction will only wait 10 minutes. You probably only need to wait 10 minutes

A lot of public advisories and language is aimed at lowest common denominator of human intelligence and reason. A lot of the language is constructed to avoid lawsuits. Don't take warnings and advisories literally, take them as efforts at changing behavior of the lowest members of society. If you're reading this, you're probably above average conscientious/intelligent/risk-averse and you don't need to worry about these advisories so much

They’re grim, add ambulances taking hours now. Saw a bloke have one after bumping from the same bag of brown aeons ago. Mid sentence his face drooped weird, a new level of incoherency couldn’t grasp initially, got to phone and a blue light was on it in minutes

The elderly?

Mates who still indulge in caning sessions where they gimp out so hard they may or may not be stroking out?

xmas - mate slurring, can raise arms but, top tip, if their face is numb and they can't form words, get on the fucking phone - no ambulance available, NHS ordered taxi who took the "scenic route" through Salford, 2 hour wait in A&E only to be told off by intern for not getting there quick enough

lost a grandmother to multiple strokes, heartbreaking to see her sitting in a pool of piss unable to form a sentence, a shell of her former self
