Human rights activists in Argentina have expressed consternation over new security guidelines to crack down on an anticipated wave of protests after the incoming government of libertarian president Javier Milei devalued the country’s currency by more than 50%.

Protesting individuals and organizations will be identified with “video, digital or manual means” – and then billed for the cost of sending security forces to police their demonstrations, said Milei’s security minister, Patricia Bullrich, as she announced the new protocol on Thursday.

The people who are pro liberty are the ones blocking people from moving...for weeks?!

These kinds of obstructive protests are blackmail; there is no need for protests like these to raise awareness in an age of universally unlimited broadcasting power: all one needs is a well-crafted Tik Tok video.

Imagine looking at a package of policies like that and proclaiming it will benefit ordinary Argentinians just because it's "not socialism." Just think for a moment what it would be like to be that embarrassing.

If it were me, I'd probably assume something as close to a full lotus position as my pot belly would allow on my loli-erotica waifu pillow, don my favourite ceremonial trilby and commit seppuku with my Wish.com knock-off katana out of sheer shame.
