There was a table in pub nearby but in a corner so noone could use it. Gone now. Rare artifacts. That's the billiards craner plays I should of specified. It has managed to hang on in south Wales to some degree. A small but committed group of enthusiasts keeps the game alive.

He plays bar billiards? No you're joking obviously.

It feels as though a ranking of these games in order of sophistication and elegance should be something like this - most sophisticated at the top - right?

I guess that Rocket Ronnie is therefore the all-time greatest sticksman as the acknowledged master of the king of these table sports.

Billiards is a separate game to pool. Craner is a fairly high level billiards player after having been introduced to the game by his father. It's very rare you see a billiards table now and craner hates seeing the two games conflated as the simpler, easier pool has eclipsed billiards almost entirely.
