I think it's weird how this thread doesn't quite pop off like some of the others. I wonder if the video isn't disposable and low tech enough for the works of obscure genius we tend to like? or we're too old? I'm like where's the fucking bizarro rap videos? TikTok must be full of low budget insane rap shit surely? The Brooklyn Drill stuff probably the best example I can think of that seems to capture this

I love the tune (Virginia represents) but the vid is pure mtv fodder cliche, more an example where the visual work comprises the track itself

Never had mtv or satellite tv so unless it was on terrestrial Tv, i never saw many music videos. Cos of that i romanticize the archaic idea of videos spoiling the purity of the song. Idk what modern music videos are like either actually, unless i listen to something on youtube.
