there's this absolute bullshit restaurant in the lower east side where you can go and drink vermouth at the tiny bar at the back and talk to the staff, they are the ones who got us into it

people harp and chirp directly kael's saint cop fascist review of the film, but the film is much morenuanced look on law enforcement and its relationship with city government officials.... all of this is backdropped and manufactured by Siegel's incredible design of SF and directing of a tight exhilarating and never not engaging cop vs criminal cat and mouse chase.... amazing film, a defining piece of american cinema
