The Importance of Prodigy’s (RIP) Autobiography – My Infamous Life. To Hip Hop Culture

SW9 Gangster SW9 is a massive hip hop fan, and sonically, 90s hip hop is some of the most well produced, creative and well crafted music style of all time.

Prodigy the rapper was a part of 90s hip hop rap group Mobb Deep, and Mobb Deep’s art form and hip hop product, was very important to the 90s hip hop era.

SW9 Gangster SW9 first received news of Prodigy’s ‘Autobiography My Infamous Life: The Autobiography of Mobb Deep's Prodigy’, from infamous hip hop website Project Covo (SOHH).

The Prodigy Biography - My Infamous Life: The Autobiography of Mobb Deep's Prodigy, was released worldwide on April 19, 2011.

The website Project Covo, was a hip hop cultural impenetrable fortress of culture and the Prodigy Autobiography was very heavily recommended. Project Covo was the best hip hop forum online at the time and the quality of posting was very high level, with an elite clientele of posters.

The rapper Prodigy a member of hip hop group Mobb Deep, released his Autobiography in 2011, a year before the hip hop wide 90s hip hop revival. With his excellent biography, Prodigy, predicted, prophesised and preceded the 2012 90s hip hop cultural revival.

It was a year later in 2012, that new hip hop artists like SpaceGhostPurrp, Raider Klan and Asap Rocky, came through with a 90s influenced sound, and rapped about being influenced 90s hip hop titans.

In 2012 Wu Tang Clan, Eazy E, Big L, ODB, A tribe Called Quest and 90s Memphis mixtape rap became very popular. Prodigy’s book was released a year before the 90s hip hop, cultural popularity.

“a memoir about a life almost lost and a revealing look at the dark side of hip hop’s Golden Era”

The book discusses prodigy’s background, and his life as a New York resident, from the projects.
The book has wild stories from his dealings with the best of the 90’s rappers, and even gives readers an insight into the ‘East Coast/West Coast’ beef of the 90s era.

Hegelian Dialectic is an excellent album and very interesting. Prodigy's solo output can be quite excellent at times for example H.N.I.C.

Prodigy's work as Mobb Deep is my favourite. Mobb Deep - The Infamous is a classic hip hop album.

However Hegelian Dialectic, is an excellent album although it wasn't released in the 1990's.

The production on Mobb Deep's 1990's output is different to to their 21st century work, completely raw with high quality major label mastering.
