oh so it's a sex thing? that makes senseI've had to accept that talking to the chap behind the Socialist Worker table in town is not going to turn him into Ayn Rand. That's made me a better person.

What's not respectable about them?!thank you, those are not respectable science journals tbh but thank you
Or Jacob Rees-Mogg, if you prefer.oh so it's a sex thing? that makes sense
well they are short and politicised articles on pop science but hey, better than nothingWhat's not respectable about them?!
In any case, there are protected characteristics which have no clear neurological correlate but which nonetheless are manifestly slow to change if change they do at all - political opinion is of the same sort.
Well you've got to get at the original research.well they are short and politicised articles on pop science but hey, better than nothing
yeah when you refer to "protected characteristics" that is UK equalities legal terminology isnt it (AKA DEI in US, but i don't think that particular concept translates precisely into US civil rights?).@sufi there are other correlates too as I've mentioned before: with testosterone, libido, symmetry/asymmetry, mental health, even propensity to identify as the opposite gender (Democrats 4x more likely).
Yes, that seems to cover political mindset, but it doesn't say so explicitly which is part of the reason politiphobia is rampant.yeah when you refer to "protected characteristics" that is UK equalities legal terminology isnt it (AKA DEI in US, but i don't think that particular concept translates precisely into US civil rights?).
You will be pleased to hear no doubt that belief is in fact already a protected characteristic

No, don't ask him to pull out the charts!no that is just hot air, you mentioned "neurological correlates" which sounds proper scientific so show us some supporting academic guff please
- Political affiliation has more neurological correlates than some other protected characteristics. Protected characteristics are those that are deemed to be impossible or very hard change, with no good reason to change them anyway.
- Therefore, it should be a protected characteristic.
- Criticising someone for being Conservative or Labour, Democrat or Republican, is like criticising them for being gay or straight; it should be a hate crime.
- Trying to change someone's vote on their doorstep is conversion therapy. It should be banned.
- Not providing an outlet for political values is discriminatory and should be banned.
- Expecting that everybody share your political values is like expecting everybody to be straight. It's not gonna happen. Just deal with it.
- People who discriminate on the basis of politics are politicists and practice politicism. This is as bad as racism.
