I heard Charlie XCX through a sister's husband (also a big music nerd, and makes music, but more of hip American millennial tastes with a cross of sus's tastes with the singer/songwriter thing) who sent me a few tracks to check out thinking I might like a few things (I did find some of the production interesting, but I wasn't that much into it to their disappointment).
fun fact: they met over my sister talking to him about Laibach at a party which happened soon after talking about them to my sister after seeing them talked about on the colbert show in ~2015? for playing in North Korea, so when they got married, the procession started with about the first 30 seconds of and I just about fell out of my chair when I heard it (I'm sure I was the only person there that recognized it), but it was soon mixed into Kate Bush
