little known fact, and they will deny it up and down, but the hardcore/jungle tom and jerry took their name from the s&g's earlier pairing when they went under the name tom & jerry as a pop/doo-wop duo

tell me if I'm getting too off-genre as far as stuff in a similar vein, but this was my grandfather's (mom's side) favorite song


he always had tons of records and 45s sitting around all over the place...

Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam has to be one of the most interesting characters
releasing all the folk-pop stuff and then dropping what would be one of the first electro-funk b-boy tunes in 77 (I'm sure he wasn't thinking of it like that though)
