I went to EXIT festival in 2007 and saw a few techno DJs play to this huge crowd in a moat (this isn't that year).
Standing on top of that hill at the back when the sun was coming up/had come up—buzzing on speedy serbian pills—I could understand the appeal of techno. (The last time I felt like that in recent years was seeing dettman/klock play at the gigantic Drumsheds in Tottenham (pre IKEA)—so high on pills that I couldn't read my own phone.)
Anyway, I don't know shit about techno/house really but I remember this one got played a few times
I was always kind of confused about what counts as minimal as there seems to have been several different currents.
at any rate, I guess this was Beltram doing some kind of take on it - I like it:
I reckon there's loads of Berlin stuff that people like Ricardo Villalobos would play, maybe even Sven Vath, or general Resident Advisor fodder. Quite like the tunes I've mentioned though.
I like the melodic stuff too, stuff like Cobblestone Jazz and general Matthew Johnson. Do remember checking out mixes out the time, but a lot of the music was very generic. I'm just digging around for stuff like this for some reason.
This was massive as was the flip. Ud hear it in Fabric and kinda die. Seeing Convextion live in Corsica in '07 blew my mind...blew the cobwebs off completely. He has a new ep out right now, still great.
