I was talking to a few people about this the other night. I thought it was quite damning of liberals, people on the left, anyone else opposed to Trump, Musk, etc. that so many of them have such a negative view of the site yet seem unable, or unwilling, to leave, either because it's too inconvenient or because Bluesky and Mastodon are too embarrassing. These social media companies are so embedded in people's lives they just can't bear to part with them, even when they're convinced they're being run by Nazis.
Bluesky is hilarious.

The thing is there are thousands of apolitical bodies that release their news on Twitter, including every English football club, and they're not going to bother duplicating things across many sites.

the first month has been a blitzkrieg. its really worked. everyone is reeling. does that still count as affect? it's a media experience at least. beyond the actions and policies there's the tone. which is very much: we are ruthless, rude and obnoxious, and we are going to use force. it provokes fear i think, when you see it. it's unsettling.
It's especially stressful for leftists as they have a prey mentality, the kind which still thinks racist attitudes from 150 years ago (which, by the way, were universal) still prevail today, and override any other considerations when it comes to American identity. You guys will be nervous wrecks by the end of this term, mostly scaring yourselves with demons of your own devising.

Interesting how many Trump supporters I'm seeing saying stuff like this

In other words pretending to celebrate the worsening standard of living that Trump is bringing in as it will usher in 'minimal living'.

Yesterday they said Trump was going to improve standards of living...

There may be a little early pain for a long lasting gain.

Yeah except what makes you think there will be long lasting gain?

tariffs will temporarily lead to increased prices, but will generate wealth and independence in conjunction with regulation cuts over the next couple years.

Oh I'm sure they will... bad news for all the Trump voters getting the biscuits treatment and waiting for that to happen though.
