Covers of Bob Dylan

thirdform

pass the sick bucket
one day I'm going to find the turkish bob dylan cover and it's going to obliterate his entire oeuvre and proove that most americans can't make music without black and middle eastern people.

even the lovely lady ms. Florence Dill is going to play it on nts, such will be its utterly totemic impact.

‘72, bit loose as an opener

‘75, as good an adaptation as it gets and the most coherent version with this line up including Nicky Hopkins and Ronnie Tutt

late 80’s, takes a min to build but sails sweetly on launch

sort of had to include this

Joan Baez - I shall Be Released live at Woodstock

I was horrified when I first heard this - I had been in love with the Keith Hudson version for years and then I heard this and all my illusions were shattered when I realised the REGGAE DENTIST had covered a Bob Dylan tune

edit:

the Keith Hudson do-over

baez and simone are almost positively the best at doing these "constitutional re-plays of mass production", this nearly brought me to tears... the fingers of folk and gospel are interlocked and this song is that bridge,

i once made a very spirited, intelligent defense of guns and roses on here that changed alot people's minds and hearts. You should take a deep breath and listen again with an unclenched asshole

I think My argument was that guns and roses were the last and thus best rock band ever. I think Luke stood up and clapped with a tear in his eye it was really profound

it's true I can't find the post but my argument is sound and rings true for those with the finely tuned ear. Metalllica is another one of those bands. There was something about the late 80's. Rock music was solved. Lab grown perfectly engineered capital r capital b rock bands
