The shiny people

Do you think you could handle fame? Even though I fantasise about it I’m pretty sure it would kill me quite quickly. Even though I exude an unbothered thing I actually CARE VERY DEEPLY ABOUT WHAT OTHERS THINK AND AM VERY SENSITIVE. Even mild praise can be overstimulating at times, and also repulsive, weird, don’t trust it. Can you imagine the levels of stimulation in these times?

No, I'd loathe it. I've said before the ideal for me would be the wealth of celebrity with none of the profile. Just the thought of people going over every picture of you, discussing your health, appearance, etc.'s chilling. No wonder so many of them fall down the plastic surgery hole.

This is something Gosford Park got right I think, between upstairs downstairs. The help has a freedom their masters lack, which is a freedom from constantly grasping. All the wealthy ones are constantly anxious about holding on or getting more. They throw tempertantums over changes in numbers printed on pieces of paper.
I'm always impressed by people who actually do change their lives once they have money. Frank Ocean made his money and went, fuck it, I don't need to make music, I'm gonna hang out and never work again. I respect that.

Well apologies in advance for a long and likely tedious explanation but I'm limping with 20kg bag two miles to a park to sleep a bit

It is true that there are some parts of the United States in extremely rural areas where we probably could find similar prices to Spain or Italy. Somewhere between 200 and $300,000 for a home and a plot of land. Pat, part of the Hope is that our friends will come visit us and we can put them up for long periods of time in guest quarters or sponsor artist residencies or Rider retreats or have friends come out to help record music or play in jam sessions. It turns out that coastal Americans are extremely averse to leaving coastal America for just about anywhere other than Europe. To them, rural America is a wasteland that they don't even ding to think of. This makes it very hard to start a remote hub in something like Western Pennsylvania. For example. We experience this firsthand when we lived in Wisconsin. A beautiful, beautiful part of the country and quite affordable. We saw houses for as low as $50,000 in decent shape. But nobody would visit us. Even our close friends said why the heck are you in Wisconsin? Whereas Italy or Spain, they're already very excited to come visit and have made Grand overtures pledging to come annually if we'll put them up
yes i will visit any of these places immediately i cant wait

I watched this whole thing when it was uploaded about a month ago. They just drive around in an expensive car, go to the gym, then drive around in an expensive boat. They don't really seem to do anything, or even have any sort of internal world. There's no sense of any of them even particularly liking one another or genuinely communicating. An endless advert with no discernible product beyond the appearance of a lifestyle. Networking as entertainment.

i should watch this
