Long time no speak people!
Thought i'd get involved again as I just listened to "The Plastician" on Radio One for the first time.
Must say it was a good show, hopefully a few more like that and Radio One will place grime on their weekly rotation instead of it's slot on their Residency rotation.
Cameo's show was also blinding this week. I think this may have been to do with the fact he knew he would have competition this week on Radio One, perhaps this is a good thing and it will make Pirate Sessions EVEN BETTER than it has been for the past year or so.
On top of that Logan Sama has been moved to a more listenable hour on Mondays 11-1.
Finally we have a decent selection of grime and dubstep across a spread of legal stations. I feel they have picked the best of the bunch to do it as well. I can't think of any other DJ's in the scene right now who could host a legal radio show as well as these 3. Sure there are great selectors, but pirate radio seems to be slowly losing it's radio DJ's to the mainstream, hopefully moves like this will force DJ's into bettering themselves on pirate.
Thank god for internet forums as well, the sheer bulk of radio recordings since the beginning of this year has been awesome. I think I have every Newham Generals, Roll Deep, Ruff Sqwad and Plasticman set from 2006 so far on my hard drive. My iPod has been doing some serious over time.
DMZ are looking amazing for 2006, every time I listen to the Breezeblock, Maryanne Hobbs drops something ridiculous into her show by them. On top of that they had a successful event in Leeds, aswell as their birthday event in Brixton coming up, which is no doubt going to be absolute mayhem after the roadblock at the last one.
My points made, perhaps a few should be cut and paste into the dubstep rumours page but never mind - I was on a roll!!
