Loved the first canto that's in that anthology too, the other ones that were in there totally defeated me on first reading though. I'll have read through this thread properly I think before having another go at them

32 is not going to be accessible without notes probably but 51 is straightforward.

Well any little bit helps with this sort of heavy material. I'm taking in a lot of different stuff atm from that anthology, reading thru them all quite quickly, and planning to go back to the ones I like in more depth in the future.

Frankly I don't think it's worth the trouble in terms of tracking down every reference etc but good to have an idea of the scope of the project and its concerns

Yeah life's too short to be tracking down everything, don't want to get to get bogged down, but I do enjoy reading around after I've read something (not just talking about the cantos here, but everything really), then giving it another go. I think that's definitely worth it.
