I'll always remember that interview with Waddle when they asked him "is scoring a goal better than sex?" and he says "no i don't think so"... and then it cuts to him celebrating a goal for Marseile - an important one i assume - where he's running outside the touchline snarling and pumping his fist and there are about a million French lunatics jumping up and down on top of each other, completely transported, fighting each other in ecstasy, screaming his name, bursting out of the stands.. just insane scenes, and the interviewer deadpans "Chris Waddle's sex life is better than this".

I was just walking home a minute ago and I noticed how everyone i passed said hello or good afternoon or similar and that has been my experience quite a lot recently.... compared to Portugal it's completely different, there people are really scared of being greeted by strangers. And Russia which is the other country i maybe have most experience of is way worse than both in that respect.

Years ago when i lived in London and rented my spare room for airbnb this guy from Switzerland stayed over and he saw us going to the shops and having a laugh with the kurds who ran our local or the bus drivers etc and he was saying that that would never happen in his country.... when he went home he had been up all night smoking meth with us and - if he did catch the plane and not die somewhere on the way - I think he would be wrong to say that everyone from London was like that. But it's probably more like that than it is in Switzerland.

The funny thing about that video is the comments underneath all saying "it's like this in Portugal/China/the US/everywhere".
