I think the campiness is part of why it works so well as horror. The Upside-Down is "nightmarish" in the conventional sense of "really horrible", but it's not actually like something you'd see in a real nightmare. Not any I can remember, anyway. Whereas the Black Lodge, in fact all the more horrible scenes in Lynch, has a true hint of nightmare or hallucination about it.felt more true to life. the black lodge is just a bit of silliness. comedy dwarf cavorting about speaking in a funny voice.
That's not like you at all!well i like em both im just being contrary
Eeech. I know this feeling - happened the first time I did mushrooms. I assume what you've got is a far milder version of that, or you'd be totally non-functional. Sounds shitty all the same and I hope you can eventually get past it.If you've ever seen Being John Malkovich, it can feel a bit like that.... like I'm a passenger in a body and sort of watching what it's doing from inside.
The other thing I had was looking at my hands and they looked like the hands of an old man.
Thing is, boys, I think we went through what our ancestors would call an initiation. A rite of passage. We faced it, had no choice. And it passed, and we're still here. Now we just have to put the pieces back together. It can be done, I'm sure of it![]()
