And the transnationals need the support of governments and the neutrality of the regulatory authorities in order to consolidate their positions, increase their profits, withstand or crush the competition, pull of the "deal of the century" and finance their illicit operations.

today the ’Ndrangheta is by far the most powerful criminal group in Italy and one of the richest in the world. A study by the Demoskopita Research Institute in 2013 estimated that it was more financially powerful than Deutsche Bank and McDonald’s combined, with an annual turnover of €53bn (£44bn).

Absolutely. They're also very old. The trajectory from far left to far right is an extremely well-trodden path - recall that Mussolini was once a Marxist. And the far right has always been inextricably linked with the esoteric, the mystical and the occult. Anti-vaxxers and crystal healers jumping on the QAnon bandwagon is the latest iteration of a tendency that goes back to a certain mystically-inclined, far-right party in Germany that I shan't name for fear of provoking the wrath of sufi, and before that, to the racist Armanist and Ariosophy movements, begun before 1900, which paved the way for much of what came later.

In a more general sense there is a specific health and vitality revelation, a revelation of what the body wants, which can harden into a very dogmatic and even intolerant rigid world view
