What was the prediction?

Basically that the next global challenge after Covid will be a huge cyber attack.

isn't this just the equivalent of disaster preparedness? if, say, a natural disaster or chemical attack happened, I'd like to know the government has thought about the possibilities in advance and has strategies and procedures in place to deal with it. wouldn't you?

Well obviously yes but we have talked about this at length. The suspicion is, and this is inevitable, that those plans don't include you.

I met my canal mate again and he told me a few more conspiracy theories, one is about how the internet is going to be turned off soon and another is something i think called "cyber polygon". he was also saying the Earth's crust is like an orange peel and moves about occasionally.

and then another one to do with Prince Charles being in Romania at the moment because he is a vampire.

He's not wrong about the earth's crust.

However, vampires are supposed to be all cool and sexy and whatnot, which I think fairly conclusively rules out Prince Charles.

i actually spent a bit of time with this guy yesterday, and in and amongst all odd things, like we got derailed a bit when i told i was double jabbed, he does speak a lot of sense, or at least has some interesting insights.

it is a bit like that tbh except more frenetic. if i give him any space in the conversation he fills it with more wondrous facts so i have to think of loads of things constantly

Yep. The "north pole" attracts the north pole of a compass magnet, meaning it's really the south pole, if you go by the convention of how the poles are defined in an electromagnet. Of course they're just arbitrary labels.
