That "We Takin' Over" track is on the recent Lil' Wayne bootleg mixtape jobby, "Greatest Rapper Alive". I quite like it, nice beat. Akon's on everything now isn't he. Typical OTT video too. Wayne prolly wrote those bars in his sleep but he still kills it. Can't really get used to Fat Joe doing this Dirty South kind of flow, it justs sounds weird.

That other track is mad average and pointless but it is a pretty sick beat. Not heard of this Danja cat up until now, he's alright. The new hot producer this month eh. Where's he from? What's his GAME CREDENTIALS, anyone know?

For anyone whose been under a rock for the past year, Danjahandz has been working closely with Timbaland for the past couple of years and he's made quite a few joints that people thought Tim himself produced. Danja has quite a few plaques on his wall and if you visit his MySpace page you'll se his past discography as well as his upcoming joints. SMH. One.

It's still running (although my laptop has died and someone has apparently hacked my MySpace page)..It may take a while before everything is resolved with it...This thread is fuckin' DEAD BTW. I'm almost willing to let it let die here in Dissensusland. One.
Do you have a newsletter? I'll check your blog when its back up, but getting an email run-down once a week would be great for us lazy types. Just a suggestion...

Cheers

New T.I. track

http://www.thefader.com/blog/articles/2007/04/13/audio-big-shit-poppin

It's a Mannie Fresh beat - got a nice bassline but not really feeling the late-night-softcore-porn guitar licks in there.

Isn't really T.I. at his best (or Mannie for that matter), but play it a couple of times and it'll be in your head.

Also: Young Buck's new single is badness. Massive club banger. Oh my days.
Has anyone heard the whole album? Is it like this? I sure as fuck hope so.

The video is large as well:

Also, after hearing the hype behind this Prodigy release, I took the time to listen to two of the singles Stuck To You (I think that's what it was called?) and Mac 10 Handle.

The former was utter shit, and the latter was dismally boring, although a much better track.

What is all the hype about? I thought it was pretty unanimous now that Mobb Deep jumped the shark.

Fair do's bruv, I haven't been under a rock, I know my hip hop eh, but I'm into other stuff as well and can't know everything! I could have just googled it to appear all knowledgeable but i didn't...

SMH means "shake my head" eh? I didn't know that either. thanks google!

Might I add, to solidify my credentials PD, that i'm nearly 33 and have been listening to hip hop since the age of 9...i used to buy all them Streetsounds compilations, wear a Nike windcheater and attempt breakin'. How fucking cool am I?

Your knowledge is encylopediac though Dart, and I do bow down. Bet I know more about hardcore punk and Italian horror films than you though. Internet badman, me.

its cos its not complete shit that everyone has gotten so excited, lol. well that and the fact theres not a whole lot of other stuff to get excited about. IMO the most 'distinct' artists in hip hop are pretty much all the older ones now and have been around for a while, by and large, but the problem is just as was always the case, rappers still have a pretty quick sell by date and shoot their load early on so while its great that say, UGK have a new album coming out thats going to do well but i doubt it will be a patch on ridin dirty or any of their earlier albums. id like there to be some new blood to come out that can really stand up with the best of them but im not sure how many contenders there are. its quite depressing from where im standing. im sure stelfox will say im totally missing out on a milion amazing southen rappers or bay area guys and he might be right. but im not really bothered to be missing out on them at this stage.

I'm nearly 32 and I've been listening to Hip Hop since I was 3...I was and emcee, graf writer and a B Boy (I didn't own my own turntables until I was 19 so I was never a DJ)...I win! LOL.

As far as your knowledge of hardcore punk and Italian horror films go (two things I had very little exposure to growing up), I bow to your awesomeness. One.

Seems true. But some people just get better and better. e.g. ghostface.

totally disagree. for me pretty toney is the best of the lot.

wow.

when that album came out, most people were REALLY disappointed, as Def Jam neutered him...

at that time, he had put out like 5 white label 12"s leading up to the album that had people fiending... his version of "no, no, no", the track w/ method man "the afterparty", "the drummer", etc etc... (many of these tracks ending up on the Theodore Unit LP)... when the album came out, besides "Run" and "metal lungies", they weren't alot of bangers on there and too many tracks that were aimed at mainstream sucess...

that's why all his LP's since then are full of MF Doom beats and shit, Def Jam decided to leave him alone...

i would say the worst ghost LP is "bulletproof wallets", only b/c the best songs got left off due to samples (the sun, the watch)

hes turned/turning into a bit of a parody of himself i would say. that whole crying thing he does all the time plus his whole oh so wacky burroughs-of-rap thing just seems to be on auto pilot. i still like some tracks here and there of his but his whole shtick just seems to be easily predictable now.

Come on Dart - no one is listening to anything when they are old enough to still be shitting their pants.

*puke*

not true, I knew all the words to Donny Osmond's Puppy Love when it hit no 1 in the UK in 1972, when I was two. And I remember it, but I'm kinda a genius, I wouldn't expect other people to be able to do that. Y'know, norms.
