On a slow news day, one of the jobs is to go through updating obits for people who aren’t dead yet.Years ago, a good friend who works at The New York Times showed me a locked file cabinet containing pre-written obits for hundreds of famous people. I remember reading the draft of Ronald Reagan's obit a few years before he died.

I wonder if any aging celeb has been, er, helped to die by a journo who'd written what they thought was a really good obit and was getting impatient about publishing it?
