I went to the early renaissance galleries in the National the other day and although they’ve been buried away in a dingy basement area (rehanging/ refurb reasons apparently) they were just magnificent- Cimabue, Masaccio, Lippi, Piero - I think it helped it was so quiet. It meant that I could look at them and concentrate which is t always easy when your parties march past on the way to another star painting on their audio guide.

Yeah I went to a gallery somewhere years ago, can't remember which city or country and they had a whole room of William eggleston including his classic film stranded in canton and then a whole room of Paul Mccarthy and I watched so much of it, spent whole day there. It had the really gross one where he's a pig rolling in shit.
