cheap tailors

Well not so much cheap as reasonably priced, I would spend around £400 on a suit, tops.
Any suggestions? I'd be willing to travel anywhere in the UK, London is the main place I suppose.

To be honest I don't think you'll get a bespoke suit for that amount.
Buy something you like off the shelf and pay someone to alter it for you.

Or else wait until you're in Taiwan where you get lovely tailored stuff really cheap.

Yeah, I know you're usually looking at around at least a grand for a bespoke suit, but I have heard of budget places that do them for less than £500. There's nothing I like off the rack anyway, I have a very specific look and fit in mind.

There used to be a Hong Kong tailor's website where you could send your measurements and choose a style from templates and fabric/lining, and they'd make it to measure and post it to you. Also you could post a shirt and they'd copy it and send it back.

Let me know if yer find any swears, can't help. I saved up and bought a ridiculously expensive one and have never regretted it. It's worth waiting for.

Or write to GQ and get their advice? I'm sure they must have some good tips

I want a very skinny fitted pale gray new-wave sort of thing with very thin lapels and almost drainpipe kecks. I haven't seen anything on the racks like that. I'd lke it to fit perfectly, anyway.

Mods, please can this person be banned? I know he sometimes posts some suitably infantile garbage appropriate for the present terminal state of this forum, but he's really off the rails and making Dissensus a miserable place to visit at the moment.

thanks

I have noted your request. Perhaps you could now desist from adding it to every single thread that edward posts on.

A NOTE FOR EVERYONE

a) If you find the content of someone's posts objectionable, please report it to the moderators.

b) If you find a poster objectionable, either find a particularly objectionable post and report that (one will do, maybe choose the worst?) or perhaps go and have a walk, a cup of tea or whatever. Then come back to your screen and consider whether its really worth kicking off about. If it is, go to (a).

Dissensus doesn't work on the basis that if someone puts up 16 requests to ban a poster that they will get banned. Or any number.

I ended up buying a grey new wave style suit in Topman for £120. :slanted:

I might get a local tailor to alter it a bit, seems OK.

I hate Topman in general, but this is the only place near me where you can find this style. It doesn't have an eagle or "Legend" in gothic letters silk-screened on the back either, so that's a bonus.

too bad. maybe you could have them added or make your own stencil and do it at home.

if it doesn't have semi-legible gibberish plastered all over it, it's not really clothes.

Hahaha. :)

Point seconded, it's getting ridiculous. I feel myself getting the urge to say things to people like "Wow, what was it like to be a lifeguard on Long Beach in 1972? And you must look after yourself very well, you like you weren't even born then!"
