hmm.. kode 9, the bug, loefah and skream in cult fund raising shocker... nah
as far as I can see, Contakt did something really worthwhile and impressive here for the benefit of a charity he feels strongly about. a few community church links on their site doesn't really mean much as far as I can see.

Most if not all of their bosses/trustess are Christians iirc.
I asked Contakt about this (cos he asked me to play)
We had a nice chat about it all and he told me
"Oh - just to clarify about the mentor scheme - I just checked and you do actually have to be from a christian background so you were brought up with Christian morals but you are not encouraged to preach Christianity to the kids."
Which I was unhappy about so I reluctantly turned the gig down.
But we parted on good terms, and I am sure he is a good bloke. It's also possible that the org does loads of good work, but I've learnt in the past to not enter into things like fundraisers lightly.
I also decided it was a personal choice and not to kick off about it before the gig, if at all. I don't really have time to look into it all so I can't give a definitive answer about the charity. I have no doubt that lots of people would defend them.

I'm sure he's a good bloke, and I have no problem working with Christians, but I'm not sure there was as much transparency about the real nature of the organisaiton as would be desrrable. Not a big deal, just worth a question.
