i didn't sing it, but those who did had every right. he's either a fucking moron, or he doesn't care. i suspect it's a bit of both.
quaresma was our best player yesterday; every bit of good we had came from him taking people on and putting crosses in. scolari in all his years of wisdom readies drogba, the player who'll benefit most from that service, and takes quaresma off for him so the anonymous anelka can go to the wing. then takes ballack off, who was the second best player out there.
it's nothing to do with thinking we've a god-given right to win anything - maybe the gloryhunters who turned up a few years ago, but they don't sit in the matthew harding. it's watching a manager continue to not learn from his mistakes, continue to strip the team of width when it's blindingly obvious that's what it needs*, and continue to look like he doesn't give a shit. he's the worst manager we've had since i've been watching football, and the most uninspiring figure i think i've seen represent us at a footballing level (obviously some of the boardroom scum speak for themselves) since i've been going to games, which is about 13 years now- since i was 10.
*put v simply: our most reliable attacking outlets are cole and bosingwa; they need proper wingers to support them so they can commit forward. kalou and malouda just cut inside- the former cuz he's a striker, the second cuz he's an idiot. that congests the area where ballack and lampard are meant to lurk, and where anelka likes to cut back to- thus it alienates cole and bosingwa, and cuts out half the space for those three. there's talk of an overhaul, but a pair of wingers would cover up the cracks til that's possible.
