Karizma's on at Matter on Saturday by the way, alongside a load of other US house people- Tony Humphries etc.

£15 advance but I think it'll be worth it for Room 2 alone.

yeh i'm just tired of spending unnecessary amounts of money in expensive clubs with dry atmospheres for good music...

this might not be that but i'm suspicious!

yeh a good crew and some toasting can easily tip the balance its true! i've heard that karizma is stunningly good live / dj

Indeed. I think I said a few pages back, I'm more delving into the US house side of things, where it is darker and dubbier. A lot of these vocals and tunes flying out at the moment just aren't doing it for me.

And yeah I've got a few Karizma sets now, they're all very big.

Sign of the times:

At sxsw some guy named Thelonius London played a soca tune but with a heavy beat that sounded like uk funky. A couple of acts later Diplo played (probably the best set of his that I'd heard, he appears to be back on his game) which seemed to have a couple of funky tracks as well.

I wonder though if Soca plus a DJ just sounds like uk funky to my ears...
