no not screen name, a real name.
you see, my born Chinese name is Zhao He (roughly: JAO-HUH), which non-chinese speakers have never been able to get right - the pronunciation is apparently VERY difficult. so to make things easier i gave myself the first name Leo at age 12, when i moved to the states -- was a combination of following:
a bit silly. but hey, i was 12. what would you have chosen as a 12 year old if you had the chance to rename yourself? you'd probably be Grendel or Lestat or Jah Wobble or Popol Vuh or something.
many people have said that Leo does actually suit me very well over the years, (i sometimes make a conquering lion joke) but I'm considering a change, now that the first 3rd (knock on wood) part of my life is over - 33rd birthday coming up tomorrow (March 18th, pisces). the opportunity is also rare because i've kind of left my old life in Los Angeles Behind, and not sure how long i will remain in my current location before moving on to another place (London is high on possibility list).
so here's what i look like if you didn't know already:
additional pictures and profile. and if you want to know more here are my blogs: DJ, THINK, LISTEN, LIFE.
but most of you probably know a lot about me already. designer / dj / theory buff / champaign socialist / bit of a dandy at times / pot head / attention whore (of which this thread is evidence) / nice guy with player tendencies, etc. and in real life swing between megalomania and emotional cripple. (not TOO drastically)
so i'm considering a new Chinese name, and will be consulting my chinese friends with that. but also maybe a new English name, which you can help with.
not every day you get the chance to re-name a (kind of) adult human do you? (winner will get a special prize)
