this guy recreated snare hit for snare hit the lost unreleased dubplate mix of Johnny Jungle that he heard once on a Grooverider mixtape in 1993. that is thoroughly crazy (in the awesomest way possible) but it truly is the best mix of "Johnny" I've ever heard, even given the roughly 800 other remixes by big name junglists. changes the whole vibe of the tune from pure darkside to like proto-ambient jungle on almost a melancholic bliss tip, I dunno...best thing I've heard in a while anyway

saw the lad tim reaper on sunday morning. was nice to see an NYC audience move to jungle. it was energetic. don't think i've ever seen jungle or d&b with so few totally wrecked people about. people were into it but also controlled. he played properly loud, the loudest i've seen that place actually. room full of fog and daylight coming through the windows.

jungle does sound a bit weird without the scuzzy 1992 production. it sounds more like IDM actually without that. and he seems to have an aversion to chipmunks and pianos
