i'm definitely coming to those two london shows with spinn rashad murderbot and the dancers - people who saw the show in brighton that I know were blown away.

we can delay.ay.ay...
my mate went to the spinn rashad dancers murderbot night in brighton, said the music was ok but there were literally about 30 people there and zero vibe. ffs.

Yeah - it was kinda odd, but worth it to hear the music and see the dancers. They put the work in and made the best of the situation.

That's just what Brighton is like, unfortunately. Some stuff pulls numbers, most stuff doesn't. I'm just grateful that people keep trying.

the dancers were pretty amazing at underground village last week, though there werent that many people there, only about 50-60 i would say. wasnt terrible but there wasnt that much vibe there either. somewhere more intimate might have been better (plus the place was a bit too cavernous for the beats imo, though there were some great tracks played, rashad seems to really know how to push the dancers with his selection - he played this one track that seemed to be nothing but a few hard snares). but the dancers seemed to have fun. and they took it in good humour when two drunk twats clearly in the wrong club arrived late in the night and cheered them on/took the piss/just got in the way a bit (though i think even they were impressed, despite being totally off their nuts). seriously it was like a sketch from men behaving badly.

Global multinuum
Yeah a small venue would have been better. I was really surprised to see the place empty. I mean I was expecting more interest for the originators after all the hype around Addison Groove, Ramadanman, Boddika, Girl Unit, Afrika Hitek, etc. or even Salem and the drag-witch thing, all recycling footwork ideas. But it was still nice to hear the music on a decent system and to see the dancers performing. Been waiting for such an opportunity for years. Can’t thank the peeps at Planet Mu enough for what they’ve done so far.

guessing the audience for juke is still quite niche (or maybe it just wasnt promoted enough, idk). even at fwd, people didnt seem to quite know what to make of it. prob still quite a jump from the ramadanman or grl unit tracks that take from it and the actual juke tracks proper. should prob stop thinking dissensus is a good representation of the audience for this stuff lol. i think part of it is also that when these guys dj live they dont only play footwork, they play juke/ghetto house too, which a lot of people here prob still dont like/get. but its all one and the same for them. you cant expect them to just do only the abstract/weirder stuff.

sounds like something from one of rashads ghettophiles albums, tho i cant tell you which track.

I've been looking for that track for months, not sure if it is on the ghettophiles things.

I was at the Odd Future gig at Village Underground, and left thinking that the Mu night would start at around 10pm. Looked at the website later on in the evening to find tickets for someone else and realised it had already finished! Anyone know if the dancers are performing at Corsica on the weekend?

Very happy to pay cold hard cash for that one, been searching for it for a long time. He likely to give it up?
