I'm going to find a Russian conversation class. I spent a long time learning Russian at university and it kills me how crap I've let myself become.
I've started learning Russian - I'm hoping that it will open up the other Slavonic languages for me too.
My method: learn pronunciation -> create laminated record cards with vocab on; note connections to other languages and possibilities for mnemonics (eg. pameedor or tomat = pomodoro Italian or tomato English; naproteef = opposite (as in I'm 'now pro-teeth' (whereas before I was against them)) -> create cards with grammar rules -> grammar exercises, lots of -> read, watch, listen.
I basically create my resources before the proper study begins.
So I guess that's my resolution: to learn Russian.
Am definitely feeling the 'give up internet' resolution - I've done a solid 2 weeks of 6 hrs/day Russian this holiday (I have relaxation issues), which I've only managed to do because the pc was out of bounds. Had this not been the case, I doubt I would have managed more than 6 hours all told.
Are there any progs out there that for disablement of internets?
