Vice City was good.

I mean I've only ever played these games in bits and pieces, mostly just doing the thing where you murder as many cops as possible.

What excites me about the trailer is the level of detail on the clothes, the landscape, the sense of it being a 'real' city. So essentially what got me excited about RDR2.

I imagine the actual gameplay parts (shooting things) will be a bit dull.

I had a mate who lost probably 3 years (in total, spread over a period of about 10 years) of his life to smoking w33d and playing GTA. He seemed to be very skillful and he knew all the secret places and cheat codes. I wonder if he now considers this time well spent.

It is amazing how boring these things are after a very short while as corpsey says. Also pisses me off that they have such great music because every time you wanna impress someone with a obscure synth funk banger it's inevitably the GTA version that pops up as 1st result on youtube

Over the shoulder shooters are almost always rubbish to play compared to first person shooters, especially on a controller

If you could combine the open world of GTA/Red Dead with the FPS mechanics of Call of Duty

Well, I would need a long lie down to ask myself can life get better than this?

There's a first person mode in GTA V, you know.

kind of off topic, but has anyone tried one of those vr headsets yet?

I tried one recently when my brother was visiting as he works in that industry, but I didn't play a game (due to my motor skill and visual-spatial and other difficulties, I knew it would be useless to even try), but I did a sort of rollercoaster (there was more to it than that, but it's hard to explain) simulation.
It was interesting, but I wasn't blown away or felt anything like motion sickness as the warning told me about.
The most interesting thing to me was how you couldn't see anything that existed outside the simulation unless you or someone's else hands came into "view", and then you would either see artificially generated hands or your hands holding the controllers.

And that demand extends to the soundtrack. The trailer’s featured song was “Hot Together” by The Pointer Sisters (written by Sharon Robinson), and Spotify says that streams of the song soared by 182,000% since its release (no, that isn’t a typo).

The company is believed to have spent north of $1 billion on its development. That said, GTA V is estimated to have grossed nearly $10 billion since its launch over a decade ago, thanks to frequent updates and new missions.
