Yeah I wasn’t sure how to interpret all that.
It was a joke. I made a further attempt at humour by suggesting it was all plausible except that he enjoyed playing for Reading. But noone found it funny. Oh well.Yeah I wasn’t sure how to interpret all that.
Yeah I’m not playing with a full deck here.Hard for you to get because a lot of it turns on the fact that Shaka Hislop was a famous football player.
its a thing, got its own wikipedia page and everything https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PashtunwaliWhat are Pashtu values like you say?
Nonsense, he's a reggae artist who also edits Private Eye.Hard for you to get because a lot of it turns on the fact that Shaka Hislop was a famous football player.
Thanx @sufiits a thing, got its own wikipedia page and everything https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pashtunwali
I did rich but I thought it would be rude to keep going on about it. But I did raise my eyebrow at that part as well.It was a joke. I made a further attempt at humour by suggesting it was all plausible except that he enjoyed playing for Reading. But noone found it funny. Oh well.
Interesting to spend time with these guys... as I got to know them I realised Mehdi was much stricter in his faith than he appeared, to the extent that he was secretly seething when he saw boys and girls associating together in the smoking area at school and when he accidentally swallowed some alcohol in the Christmas trifle he went to make himself sick... whereas Wali's faith had lapsed and it was a kind of unspoken dark secret in his family... but more to the point Wali turned out to be maybe the best player I've ever played with - on Freiburg's books at one point - and was a big part of our winning the league that system.Used to teach in a school in East London and a couple of the guys in my department were from Afghanistan, both ended up playing for my 5-a-side team after we were short and I desperately said "hey anyone wanna play footie tonight?" and they were the only ones who seemed up for it so I messaged my captain if they were still needed and he was like "Yeah, unleash the Afghans" .
I was merely piggybacking on Shaka's sterling work anyhow.I know what it's like when you make a joke and think it's gonna get z good reaction and there's nothing. We could do with all clubbing together and sending Stan to a UK prep school or something
I had a mate at junior school who got scared and worried when he accidentally licked a stamp (we were writing letters for some reason) during ramadanwhen he accidentally swallowed some alcohol in the Christmas trifle he went to make himself sick...
It's very interesting the different interpretations... some of the Muslim kids insisted that they couldn't do any of the examples in basic probability involving dice because it would mean they were gambling.I had a mate at junior school who got scared and worried when he accidentally licked a stamp (we were writing letters for some reason) during ramadan
