Mr. Tea
Let's Talk About Ceps
thanks Tea for clearing up a bit of the German male-moon female-sun history. that has always been something of a stick in the cogs of my archetypal universalism... which i more and more realize may not be so universal! i guess i have been subscribing to Taoist definitions...
On the other hand, maybe it is universal but Germans are just wrong. (j/k)
Seriously though, it could be the case that in cultures that evolved in tropical or subtropical regions, or even somewhere like Mediterranean Europe, the sun could be seen as paternalistic because it seems to rule the natural order; that in the summer you'd better watch out, because it's a harsh and potentially hazardous, even deadly, thing. Whereas in the north of Europe, where it's cooler, wetter, cloudier - in fact pretty much dark for six months at a time in Scandinavia - the sun is more welcome whenever it appears, and seen a more life-giving rather than life-dictating phenomenon? And so more likely to be associated with the maternal.
I dunno, just a though.
oh god do they ever... it can actually be argued that they have more. because, you know, they can keep going and never have enough where as we have to get some rest for at least a couple of hours... and can not keep up the 5 t times a day schedule for long.
Heh, yeah, there is that physical aspect to take into account...though apparently it's possible for men to have multiple orgasms too (with little to no refractory period in between), but it takes a lot of rigorous training and self-discipline.
I think it can seem that women generally have a lower sex drive than men just because they're generally more selective about who and what turns them on.
