Pleasant surprise that he didn't decide to go down the house & bass route!
This also make it his first release in like, what, over a year? Prove 2 U was big dude but c'mon lol.

Also I reckon this makes jackin a bit like London busses, waiting 6 months for some sign of life then a bunch comes along in one go. Would be great to see this side of the sound continue to get support, it's the big bassline jackin tunes that still go off at 02/10:31, even if Tom Shorterz, C&A, Hannah Wants and that lot have moved on from it, so there is still an audience for it I reckon. My wager's still on a slim trickle of good tracks which become increasingly hard to fit into sets when everything else is deep tech + increasing attrition of producers into deep tech (which I don't mind so much) and smooth house & bass (which I do). Still, if jackin and deep tech could exist side by side that'd be a UK scene covering all of my raving iches.

It HAS to be down to the (lack of) availability of Lorenzo/other ghost producers as their reputations have risen. Wish more of these guys had taken the hard route and tried making more tunes themselves. Though I suspect many of them care more about DJ careers than making tunes. /cynic

I suspect those Alex Parkin tunes, even though uncredited, might be engineered. I hope not though, because both of them are great :D.

I'm moving away from filing stuff as Jackin' now, and putting more stuff in the Garage 2014 folder.

That Distro - Deep Down tune is tasty!

Stuff like that, the Tumble Audio shit, Deckstar/Steve Brooke/Nu-Wave, Paul Lawrence/Nu-Era, Billy Kenny, Hybrid Theory still making great, up-tempo, slinky, dutty house music.
