You should listen more clearly

People are not coming on my show to promote their mix cd unless they can present me a finished shop ready copy of it. I spent 6 months promoting forthcoming mix cds which never materialised, and that hurts the scene.

When 80% of my show is unsigned music what do u think it comes to me on? Nicely packaged mail out promos? It is all on cdrs and mp3s.

But if you want to come on my show and promote a project, you better be able to prove it is finished and actually available.

Until that time I will obviously still play the music on the show.

Try listening a bit harder and paying more attention

my bad then....I agree with you in the sense that at least if they wanna promote their product it must be of a standard...quality control then....and its good to see you ain't getting too gassed and are remembering the roots of all this...

but still you do sometimes remind me of Westwood lol - its either you or Cameo that are heading for that spot.....

anyways i dont see why artists cant put something together...doesnt have to be the best looking and 100% professional....just to look a little more professional. Ive had hip hop mcs give me promo albums and they all have promo pics but some dont even write on the burnt cd...i mean if i have it on my computer table it should stick out a bit...ya dig?

well one label has finally taken my 'advice' - Aftershock now have an online store. Its in its early stages but its a start....prices are a bit funny - but have I been looking at Itunes too much. Anyway are they the first grime/garage/nukg label to do this?

Okay so there are a total of 5 tracks in their store one from each artist - the pricing is bonkers 1.50 for an mp3? what a joke. If they are going to do it they need to do it right - sell the mixtapes online for the same price as in the shops - or cheaper coz there is no shop to have to give a cut to.

Plus the whole checkout system seems very dodgy - https ?

What a shame. I got excited for a bit - oh well.

I saw that ad too.To create ''Shake A Leg'' Roll Deep put a vocal to the tune ''Mambo Craze'' by a German lounge act called De-Fazz .The ad features no vocal,so in essence it's the De-Fazz tune being used which makes it doubly perfect!

Personally I loved ''Shake A Leg''.It was quite an off the wall move for a Grime act to show their sense of humour and I would love to hear tunes with that feel.

i agree. just cos logan wants artists to have their music look a bit more presentable, doesnt mean it has to look like theres a million pound budget behind it. indie rock artists have cheapo covers all the time but they still look good. a bit of imagination wouldnt go amiss. (as long as they dont end up looking like wileys new album of course)
