cheers for prodding me into it ben, caught chefal and rams, great way to end the weekend. rams' mad scientist bubbling-cauldron weirdness was a definite highlight.

yeah it was a good one! brackles and distance smashed it up also, but on really different tips

more techno influenced stuff:

- appleblim, particularly 'vansan', him and komonazmuk's remix of sideshow 'if alone'
- peverelist- the obvious tunes like 'infinity is now', 'clunk click every trip'
- narcossist- check 'sunblind', amazing tune

more g-funk/hiphop influenced stuff:

- joker's purple wow sound mix
- gemmy's fact mix
- guido mix
- rekordah mix

plus everything rsd (rob smith) is doing. you can find his stuff in various mixes- there's a 10 min mary anne hobbs session, and a forensics death star valley (vol 6 i think) mix where he plays like 4 rsd dubs.
apologies if that's all obvious, it seemed like that's what you wanted.

Vansan by Appleblim is a bit of a cracker isn't it? Plenty of repeated listening in that one I reckon. Youtubing Peverlist - Clunk Clunk (which is also pretty good) brought to my attention some footage of Mary Anne Hobbes' Bristol Rise Up! documentary. I expect that along with giving me some information on the scene and locale, watching this will help resolove my conflicted opinions on MAH.

yeah i think he said on benji b or something he made it after burning a copy of the sun

as I said

he knows how to run a label and release product. he reads forums and checks the web to see what's poppin but please...he's treated like some kind of God

if it was someone else...they wouldn't get the same props

Dubstep (or whatever) is really underground innit? I mean it is very much an underground affair. no-one really knows the people involved. when I come up for air I realise that generally people don't know who Benga is etc

it's a good thing - should stay that way but maybe the name ain't right anymore. maybe it should just be called Bass - I like that

also Peverelist is a lot. I just thought he was some boring, slow dude (in terms of tunes) but he can really produce!

got a guest mix from loefah on the sub fm show tonight 8-10pm

it's a non dubstep - personal favourites selection but should be

also the lastest dubstep cream, a bit of funky funky and who knows what else.

let's have some dmz reviews then :)

so far i've heard it was over packed, people were moving through the floor like it was a corridor, the queue was insane, and there were too many blokey blokes doing fists-forward coke-dancing.... but also heard that kode9 b2b oneman was absolutely ridiculously good.
