Yeah Ikonika is far and away the weak link on the Hyperdub roster. "Please" was decent but she is just not on that level.

This is hairsplitting. Grime and funky might not have the same obsession with deep, deep sub-bass, but both genres are typically centered around a bassline, drops, etc. and a lot of tracks are bass heavy by anyone's standards. They definitely could be categorized under that umbrella.
As opposed to, say, some house music which may be really deep and bassy, but where there isn't as much of a focus on the bass line being the most predominant part of the track.
To be fair it's pretty hard naming stuff like this - Bass related vernacular is almost as abused as the funk/funky lexicon

I don't know man. I've heard two DJ sets by her, and both were really underwhelming.
I'm not saying she's BAD! But at the same time... She's probably my least favorite Hyperdub artist ATM.
Of course, it could very well be because she dissed me on Dubstep forum for saying Brandy's waste...

What's happened to Darkstar? I thought Need You was one of the strongest tracks of last year. Pissed all over Zombys offering on Hyperdub. Yet there's been no follow up release and it's the only tune on their myspace player now.
