Vehicle releases were pretty rolling and Zed Bias was all about percussion, either as Maddslinky or Phuturistix. Got those two CDs?

You know what I dont, thanks for the reccomendation, are the CD's in question like Compilations? Or are they album things? Is vehicle Neil Tempa’s label? Swear he runs Road & Shelflife aswell?

@benjy sounds good, is it grime? or mostly dubstep?

2ndly can somebody ID a tune for me? Youngsta has played it on some 2005 set's. It is by Skream, it starts with hi hats through a filter, then a sharp "warp" stab is introduced, then it just starts rolling, proper halfstep, he used to play it and task used to pull it, just want to know if it came out, sorry for no audio & the poor description!!

skream asks is it this one from Skreamizm1:
if it's not you're gonna have to provide audio or sftu ;), as "proper halfstep with hi hats" doesnt narrow it down.

yes blackdown, saviour!! (I probably seem like a right dick now, I swear this never came out, I am usually spot on with that sort of stuff!)

out to skream. I never knew that was the 'untitled' track, I sold skreamizm one, after I battered it to peices so bad...a friend badly wanted it, at the time I was more hyped about vol 2...oh how we screw now :-( :-( :-(

edit* i am such a dickhead, I had an incling it was on skreamizm, i probably played it a few times & didnt realise until now how big a tune it is

okay, if that's THAT one, then what is that track "maniac killer" (the sample) with those disgusting hi-hats and the low LOW bassline, and the flute? (sorry for asking so many of these, I promise, this is ONE of the last ones.)

who knows...
while we're on the topic...

i'd love see an interview with Martyn.

i know he's been pretty quiet post album release, but I don't think I've ever really read an in depth article with him. and would definitely love to.

While we are requesting interviews and seriously upping the workload for blackdowns blog, can i request an interview with Joker?

That would be nice thank you in advance! ;)

Hatcha v Oneman on Kiss last night ohmydiddy, talk about clash of the heavyweights. Sounded like new Mala at the end and a different mix of "Candyfloss" I don't recognise. Any set that *starts* with a special of "Ramp" is always going to deliver...

Cheers for the heads up, I don't check Hatcha's show that often these days (silly me)

hah, looks like blackdown's dream of hyph mngo reaching ibiza anthem status may come true?

"Last but by no means least Joy Orbison-Hyph Mngo_HOTFLUSH I played it as my last track to 40k Monster kids before Armin went on..Massive !"

i just absolutely fucking love this story - trying to imagine just how awesome that would've been. i've seen some ibiza-esque responses to the track now, hands in the air type stuff.. but 40k people!!!! fuck. i'll re post the obvious response from my twitter:

which is why, mr reynolds, dismissing as dull+undanceable a DANCE track you heard thru your computer speakers in nyc might be A BIT SHABBY

That's crazy. Seeing that tune go from the last tune on Ben (UFO)'s Fabric mix to the size it is now... madness.

and belated big ups to Blackdown ;)

yeah, you know, its not gone unnoticed that it has kinda eluded me, over all these years. i started once around his album but he backed out when i admitted how many questions i had ready.

tbh i think derrek nailed it for the wire, not sure that can be topped.

Mostly because you don't have to ask him the same 10 questions...

"So, how did you get into DJing? What is dubstep?" etc. etc.

He hasn't had to answer unique questions for a few years now.

oh it's so ludic. etc. etc.

re me and dusk v joe nice, it's on next time joe's in the country. we've deliberately held back lots of early lost dubs for this very reason.

skream on the other hand is seriously making this disco clash not happen!

Plus Pitchfork Year in Wot Do U Call It 2009 live now.

By reading your article you would think that nothing happens in dubstep outside of the uk or even london for that matter... but you did manage to mention 2 non uk artists.

" Sub FM's Whistla coined the term "future garage" " the therm future garage has been around for years

and you mentioned the hyperdub album which is pretty average as compilations go if you're kode9 and you have access to almost anything and you failed to mention probably the 2 most original tracks on there martyns & fly lo's.
