i'll join in and be on my best behavoiur if you do poetry.
the best bit in moby dick is the scientific discussion of why whales are fish not mammals and that anyone who thinks they are mammals is a dickhead.

I'm up for Moby Dick, got a copy sitting here + maybe it would be good doing a book that was easy for all to find rather than something obscure. Mind you, aas a n00b my opinion probably don't count for much...

dont see why being new should be an issue really. i'd consider reading it again... seem to remember lots of boring bits among the great bits though so im not sure.

nah read poetry.... its more fun.... novels are for teenage girls
ha i think you've got that backwards!

i think y'all should read moby dick if you haven't yet. i've read it fairly recently myself so i'd like to hear what you think of it. it is a very weird and very funny book. thought it'd be dry but it is just the opposite... (wet)

(It goes without saying that "I/he/she was like..." is a repugnant phrase - I just wish it wasn't so damn useful.)

sorry - Cyclonopedia - i was just abit drunk when i wrote that post last night!

Ha, well you're safe on that front since it's been 'done' already, innit?

I read it twice. Not sure whether to be proud or ashamed of this. :slanted: woops has my copy now, I'd be interested if he feels like posting any of thoughts in the thread we had about it.

Dunno about what to read next, I've got quite a pile of (mainly borrowed) unread titles. Including Finnegans Wake...christ...
