We were clearly watching a different game. I don't disagree with you about England's chances of serious progress (or, sadly, about Carragher), but I thought England played OK in the second half, used the wings well and created quite a few better-than-half chances.
yeah i'm being a bit OTT. I hope you're right. We definitely could've and should've won the game, but with the decent chances falling to heskey it was too much to ask for i guess. I do think carragher was a liability though, he got booked early on in the 2nd, got skinned by altidore down the left towards the end which brought about USA's best chance... he was close to bringing the guy down from behind too which would've been his 2nd yellow.
is everyone still enjoying the vuvuzelas or beginning to find them annoying?
Yeah. Excellent performance from Ozil. Lahm was on form too. Fantastic game. Certainly the best of the tournament so far.
Another Tory victory eh?"Cameron 2 Japan 0, Eto first scorer, 35/1. Can't go wrong, can it?"
I thought Heskey was one of England's best players on the night to be honest."We definitely could've and should've won the game, but with the decent chances falling to heskey it was too much to ask for i guess"
Great game. Only problem was ITV's sucky fucking stream meaning that at times it looked more like a game of FIFA Soccer 96 for the SNES than a live game of football.
Another Tory victory eh?

Heskey did Heskey's job decription OK, but since the traditional striker role has been rewritten for him to preclude any mention of scoring, he only ever does OK up to a point. He was worth his place on the pitch, though I still maintain that if England are going to become something special he's a luxury we can't afford.
