I just meant pure misinformation from Trump's team with a minimum amount of time for the scientists to contradict. Just pure dirty tactics.
Or suggest something better...
Well that's where the battle is... but hammer them with what? What has he got to offer at this point? What is his message here?
Well it was just my guess. But he really needs to do something doesn't he? A big thing that will move the needle.
Remember that a large proportion of people who might vote for him, and probably the vast majority of those who will definitely vote for him, are anti-vaxx lunatics who think vaccines make children autistic at the very least, if they aren't part of a sinister Gates-funded programme to cause mass sterility and turn the goddamn frogs gay.No-one want to have a crack at that?
I'm thinking that if two days before the election they announce that they definitely have a vaccine and it's harmless with no side-effects and perfect in every way and they will start administering it to the general public in one week. Basically a huge lie - but they are desperate - and if they do it close enough to the election that it can't be debunked properly in time... might win a few votes no?
But if falsely announcing a vaccine gets some pushback...there's always war. bomb Iran or china. that might get some headlines.
Well there is no way to please everyone.Remember that a large proportion of people who might vote for him, and probably the vast majority of those who will definitely vote for him, are anti-vaxx lunatics who think vaccines make children autistic at the very least, if they aren't part of a sinister Gates-funded programme to cause mass sterility and turn the goddamn frogs gay.
I'm banking on a significant number of people who didn't even particularly like what Trump stood for or had to say voted for him four years ago on the basis that they just wanted to try "something different" from what either if the parties usually offers - and that most will not vote for him again, now they know what "something different" is actually like.can he really win people over at this point? or is the focus more on turning out the vote? Americans are lazy as fuck, just because someone voted for trump in 2016 doesn't guarantee they'll do it again this time.
This is exactly what I've been thinking - he must be going "Why didn't I get on this properly before?" like a naughty schoolboy faced with an exam.something tells me he could have won people over if he became more disciplined in September, but one week isn't enough time to start now.
Yeah that's what I'm trying to get at.This campaign's been much more subdued than the last one. I imagine it's partly down to the pandemic, but I think it's also because Trump's act has worn thin and he has no new material. He's flogging the hits whilst people roll their eyes at the floundering moron on stage.
