a report that all the lawsuits are the way his exasperated campaign team is trying to appease trump, try to make him happy that they are fighting. otherwise, they fear he'll just do a press conference and formally declare victory.

I read that he phoned Murdoch and demanded they retract it but he refused... I also read elsewhere that it was another member of the Trump camp, Kushner perhpas.

A lot of people are hoping that Fox have to interrupt the Hannity or Carlson show to call Pennsylvania and the election for Biden.

Trump gonna do an address from the White House in a sec... get ready for a totally crazy rant is my prediction. Or maybe he's going to concede.

whoa...watching MSNBC, they start showing Trump press conference. Right off the bat, he saying that according "to the legal vote, we have won" and all the post-election night votes are "illegal"...and the network cut away and went back to the news team back in the studio! He spoke for about 30 seconds before they cut him off and said the aren't going to broadcast untruths. crazy.

apparently another new talking point is the polls showing biden ahead all summer were fraudulent to try and discourage his supporters from voting. the polls might have been off, but geez. he's just look for anyone to blame, besides himself.

For four years he has been able to live in a totally alternate reality, say what he wants and, at least with a large number of his supporters that has worked to create a world for them to inhabit together. Finally it looks as though that approach is no longer working and Trump is about to lose his battle against reality.

he obviously picked this moment to speak bc it's his last chance to cast doubt before Biden definitively pulls ahead

major media/social media outlets finally saying "look, this motherfucker is crazy and we're not perpetuating his baldfaced lies" is a good thing

I'm sure it will only harden the resolve of his fanatical base but you're not going to reach those people no matter how much evidence you produce

The big worry for me is how big is his fanatical base and how many of them are in positions of power, law enforcement etc?

well yeah of course that's always been the concern

the really important thing is that the military very publicly opted out of any kind of involvement

I'm sure with precisely this in mind, and the recent memory of Trump's martial law threats over the summer

that really limits the damage that can be done. it takes that kind of qanon fever dream apocalyptic war off the table.

a lot of bad things could still happen tho

Surely the military might have to get involved if he refuses to leave office and his supporters start shooting people?

Im dumbfounded. This is hilarious and scary and weird! The burst pipes comment! he’s like a wee child in the corner who didn’t get picked for football

What surprises me is how badly the Trump court challengers are being presented. This was always the strategy so why didn't they have ideas of something to complain about.
Trump has gone to federal court seeking an injunction against Philadelphia to stop the counting of "any ballots so long as Republican observers are not present". The dispute is about how close observers can be to the workers counting ballots
Judge Paul Diamond to the Trump campaign lawyer:
Diamond: Are your observers in the counting room?
Trump campaign: "There's a non zero number of people in the room"
Diamond: "I’m asking you as a member of the bar of this court: are people representing the Donald J Trump for president, representing the plaintiffs, in that room?"
Trump campaign lawyer: "Yes."
Diamond: "I'm sorry, then what's your problem?"

I don't think that will actually happen - the refusing to leave office. the shooting people might, with so many bros in tactical gear running around.

but if the military did have to remove him from office, it wouldn't be intervening in an election, it would be preventing a coup against a lawfully elected President.
