hubris from the 80's and 90's mixing with the better tech I think. it looked so blocky at the time. I tihink weve gotten better at the choreography, or at least decided to start paying attention to it again

I rewatched the first one last night and I think one of the things the sequels lack is the grittiness. The opening sequence, Neo's apartment, the club, the meeting under the bridge in the rain. It's all got this grainy, noir-ish quality to it that's totally absent from the other two.

But they have also bought the option to a futuristic action blockbuster version of Peep Show so the other one would also have made sense.
