what happens when someone likes a story? do you get a notification? is it considered ordinary or intimate to like a story? i've never really understood the rules of etiquette around stories.

No everyone his/my age acts that way about instagram stories. Certain autsitc/nvld traits are part of the neurotypical makeup of our generation. The more you slide from Millenial to Z the more extreme these manifestations. He is a perfectly normal 2024 early 20s guy. But I would say to you KC, you know better than to be baiting responses with IG story posts of songs, in this indirect emotional blackmail way. Its not proper communication and its just going to deepen the confusion and the sentimentalizing speculation on what will forever remain unknown to you so long as the appropriate deeper exchange with this woman you yearn for has become impossible or improbable.

Really depends on your age and emotional maturity, whether you and the recipient are both cognizant of playing “the game.” Like are you potential sexual partners? Are you both sufficiently social mediatized? It can really mean nothing. Its really a load of shit that people preoccupy themselves with to avoid taking the steps in real life to initiate a meaningful human exchange, its fodder for noncommittal giddiness in dumb throwaway conversations

Oh, no (and again, I don't mean this in way that's belittling), but it is has been way more than just this thing about the instagram story that has had me wondering for quite some time.

But also, we’re all a bit out there, marginal, posting on a forum and what not

yeah, but, and I don't really feel comfortable saying why he seems more "inside the spectrum" but he seems more so
I guess what I'm saying is that I haven't picked up on these things with other posters.

I mean, and again, I swear I'm not trying to be rude or hurtful, I thought it might have even been one of those "common knowledge" things most people knew that were in the loop like on whatever chat things you guys might be hanging out on.
