Thing is before that I was skinny as fuck, despite a burgeoning belly

And I'm 5'7/8 so being skinny isn't like being a model it's like being gollum

even though kid is naive and that might get him into problems it will also bring him luck and happyness you know someone bad out there will single him out maybe but someone good will do so as well. if you walk like a robot in a suit yapping in your phone no good will ever approach you but if you dance around new york with a big smile like the kid somone might just ask you how late it is and if you have the time and from one thing comes another.

difference between being a robot and being someone that projects confidence

Just fast during the day. If you know you're going to be having beers later make sure you drink plenty of coffee throughout the day so you can hold off eating until just before it's time to drink

and it also made me feel much less tired and it just makes you look better overall - everything about you just "pops" more

well, it's the people with no confidence then that go to the gym right? just because they then get muscles, don't mean they suddenly are a different person? i think most of them ridicilously muscled types are the biggest losers of all.

I'm basically saying EVERYONE benefits from proper diet, exercise and weight training - physically, mentally and emotionally.
You all seem to be looking at it from either extreme.

kids very handsome he doesn't need to do any of that. He needs to focus on higher pursuits like girls and not getting into strange Muslims cars and his confidence will be fine

I never did weights but played football for the first time in ages today and it was ace - gonna do it every week. If I can find a squash partner as well sorted. I'd just rather do that kinda thing than weights.

just cardio like a couple times a week?

here's the way i've always done things, I don't even go to a gym
i'm not talking about being a gym rat, you can use weights at home

workout 6 days a week
one week: M upper body Tu cardio W lower body Th cardio F upper body Sa cardio Su nothing
next week: M lower body Tu cardio W upper body Th cardio F lower body SA cardio Su nothing

M W F strength training would be ~30 minutes
the high intensity cardio (and I mean HIGH) would be ~15 minutes

I... just can't/won't do that.
But an hour or more of squash is super intense cardio. As you're playing someone on the same level.
