What are the sixties

My dad had this album, hugely popular at the time, could never understand the appeal myself.

UK blues rock of that time seems to be one of those few genres that will never be revived and become cool again

I use it almost as a chat up line, sometimes on second dates, but it's surprising how many say WHO?! Otherwise it's just a minor 'claim to fame'.

I haven't read it but clocked my dad reading it the other day, after being on our bookshelf for several years.

Usually only comes up at family funerals/weddings etc otherwise but I am know to blast I shot the Sheriff.

Apart from sunshine of your love, I can't think of anything I like that Clapton was involved in - and that was an obvious response to Hendrix

I hate Layla! Tears in heaven 🤮
I hate Cream as well apart from that one great song.

All those fusty band names like Derek and the dominoes, Blind Faith and the Blues breakers, just about the most unappealing thing i can think of.

But maybe there are hidden gems?

I don't think there are as he's spent the last however many decades playing the same songs. Good one with BB King playing The Thrill has Gone.

Actually I think BB king is to blame for the whole slow low energy twiddly solo progressive blues thing. Never liked him, too slick.

The best blues influence on UK 60s stuff was John lee hooker, muddy waters, Jimmy Reed, Elmore James, and then the rock n roll stuff like Chuck berry and Bo Diddley. I hate twiddly progressive blues!
