I wanna try some lean now, has anyone tried it? I guess you can't really do it the uk cos they banned all the cough medicines containing codeine. I guess you could get some codeine by cold filtration and buy some tablets with the other ingredient and then mix all that stuff with sprie but... a) it wouldn't be purple and b) it sounds like a lot of faff.

Buffed Up is actually pretty solid, despite being made for like $25.00. Dude Where's My Cup isn't nearly as good, though it's an interesting slice of Americana, which probably feels especially surreal if you're not from the US.

Trappin 4 Christmas is probably the worst hood movie I've ever seen:

Proper lean contains both codeine and promethazine. Very hard to find in western Europe and North America, but super easy to score nearly everywhere else. It's not a very exciting drug + I've never understood its popularity at all, let alone at the astronomical prices it often sells for these days...

Apparently you can also use the other kind of cough syrup, the kind that contains DXM, although that must have a totally different effect as it's a dissociative, not an opioid. (And not a very pleasant one, based on the couple of times I've tried it. Cool visuals, though. Reminded me of Magritte paintings.)

My research indicates you can buy promethazine over the counter, and then you could separate out some codeine from cocodamol or something but I just don't think I can be bothered.

US hip hop syrup aficionados solely sip the opiated variety, though yes, DXM can be super fun. Still get chills thinking about the time my bandmates and I listened to this on the roof of a squat while on a combination of Robotussin DM, mushrooms, and weed :

The squat's original roof had collapsed decades prior to our moving in, so we tarred and papered the floor of what had been the building's fifth story, transforming it into a more than adequate roof replacement. Me and a couple of other weirdos lived up there in little huts we built from scrap lumber and such. So very hella magical:
